About us
CHISD serves a student body of almost 3,380 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. The district is rated as 4A Division 1 by the University Interscholastic League. This growing district competes in the interscholastic league with Kilgore, Jacksonville, Henderson, and Palestine. The District is located in eastern Smith County, Texas and covers 118 square miles, which includes a small portion of the City of Tyler, the University of Texas at Tyler, the community of Jackson, and the city of New Chapel Hill.

We are excited to share our progress report for the Chapel Hill ISD NEW JUNIOR HIGH! CURRENTLY: 65% of all underground utilities are complete. (water lines, sewer lines, and storm drains) Practice field is 100% complete and ready for sod & irrigation. Playing field is 50% complete (half of the field is up to grade) West fire lane and parking are poured and have ongoing paving pours. 50% done with slab pour. (65,000 SF of 133,000 SF has been poured for areas A, B, and D) 75% complete with underslab MEP’s (electrical & plumbing) 70% of site grading has been completed. 85% of steel is up in area A and starting decking today. 25% of structural steel is up in area B. UP NEXT: Slab pour for Area C (kitchen & cafeteria) scheduled for next week (pending weather) Paving is ongoing averaging 1 pour a week (next is set for next week to expand the west parking into the fire lane) Site grading ongoing (working on the other half of the main playing field) Overhead MEP scheduled to start in a little over a week. We're excited to update you on the progress of the Chapel Hill ISD Operations Building! Site grading and utilities are 90% complete. Next on our agenda is lime stabilization for paving later this month. Currently, 9,000 out of the 12,000 SF slab has been poured, and we're gearing up for the metal building erection starting in the middle of this month. Stay tuned for further updates!
