#WorldFoodDay highlights the urgent need for global collaboration to ensure access to nutritious food for all, while addressing issues like hunger, food insecurity, and sustainable agricultural practices. Our grantee partner, Bancos de Alimentos ARGENTINA does just that. Over the years, CAF America donors have contributed nearly $800,000 to support Bancos de Alimentos ARGENTINA’s food rescue initiatives, benefitting more than 300,000 people. These contributions have helped train volunteers, improve logistics, and increase the volume of rescued food, particularly fruits and vegetables, which are critical to improving nutrition among vulnerable populations. Despite challenges like high logistics costs and the perishability of produce, Bancos de Alimentos Argentina continues to make a significant impact by adapting its operations and expanding its food rescue programs, demonstrating the importance of sustained philanthropic investment in local hunger solutions. As we reflect on today’s World Food Day, read more about our collaboration with Bancos de Alimentos Argentina in our blog: https://lnkd.in/eJitnBYN

Happy #DAFDay! Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are transforming the way donors give, offering flexibility, tax-efficiency, and long-term impact for charitable causes. Through a DAF, you can make a tax-deductible donation, grow charitable assets, and recommend grants over time to causes and organizations that matter most to you. This allows for a more strategic approach to giving, enabling you to respond to pressing needs around the world and ensure long-term support to initiatives that resonate with your values. As leaders in philanthropy, CAF America encourages our grantee partners and donors to explore how DAFs can support their strategic giving.  Whether you already have a primary charitable giving vehicle or not, we can be a partner in your global philanthropy. Connect with me to learn more about how you can leverage DAFs for greater impact and make every donation count! #Philanthropy #DonorAdvisedFunds

The United Nations General Assembly is always a unique opportunity to connect with inspiring leaders and changemakers from across the globe, and this year was no exception. It’s an important space to bring together donors and charity partners and harness our energy for finding solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. I was especially proud to speak alongside our partners at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), the Global Philanthropy Forum, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and Flexport at the roundtable "Uniting Philanthropic Impact: Leading Solutions and Strategic Partnerships in Disaster Relief Operations." It was inspiring to see our partnership come to life and discuss the innovative ways CAF America's connection with these organizations is having an impact in disaster relief. A big thank you to Flexport.org, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Global Philanthropy Forum, and our international charity partners for participating in such an engaging discussion and creating a platform that convened so many experts in the room.

At the 2024 United Nations General Assembly CAF was proud to convene with leaders and changemakers from across the world to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. At our roundtable, "Uniting Philanthropic Impact: Leading Solutions and Strategic Partnerships in Disaster Relief Operations", hosted with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency we explored how cross-sector collaboration can help build resilience in the face of increasingly frequent and complex disasters. We also had the opportunity to host a networking reception at the Concordia summit, where we brought together colleagues from the public and private sectors on "The Future of Financing for Impact". During these conversations, we discussed our united efforts to work towards the Global Goals and create sustainable change. #UNGA #DisasterRelief #Philanthropy #GlobalGoals CAF America

Earlier this year, CAF America’s Annual Site Visit program sent 14 team members around the world to strengthen relationships, improve grant strategies, and monitor project progress with our grantee partners. Richard Norman and Angelica Gonzalez visited four nonprofit organizations in Argentina including Bancos de Alimentos ARGENTINA, a civil society organization that coordinates food rescue programs across the country. Bancos de Alimentos Argentina’s mission is to reduce food waste and combat hunger, particularly in light of Argentina’s severe inflation, which has exacerbated food insecurity. Their network of food banks rescues produce deemed “unsellable” and redistributes it to vulnerable populations, serving as a vital resource in the fight against hunger.  Learn more about our work and shared impact with Bancos de Alimentos Argentina in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/eJitnBYN
