It’s Friday!! Take a moment to unwind and enjoy this little reminder.. Life moves fast, but it’s important to pause and appreciate the things that truly matter. I just welcomed a new addition (Pastina) to my little family -officially a cat dad of two now lol.. I couldn’t be more grateful.. Happy Friday, everyone! Who else is ready for the weekend?

A candidate turned down a "stable" job offer To join a company where they had more say in decision-making... Why? Because some people want more than just stability -they want to be seen, heard, and have a voice in how things get built. That’s where real growth happens... It’s not just about landing a job; it’s about contributing to something meaningful. Being part of the process drives engagement, innovation, and ultimately, success. Some talent are looking for more than a paycheck -they want to help shape the future of the company. What’s your take??

Ever had a great opportunity pass by because you weren’t fully prepared? I’ve seen it happen... It made me rethink how crucial preparation is. In today’s competitive market, it’s not just about having the right skills -it’s about how well you present them. People often miss out on opportunities not because they aren’t qualified, but because they didn’t take that extra step to prepare. This is why I always offer candidates I’m working with a prep call or any resources they need to help them feel ready for the interview. A little preparation goes a long way in setting yourself apart from the rest of the pack! It doesn’t guarantee success, but lack of it almost guarantees failure.

Recruiter: "This role is fully remote, with flexible hours." Candidate: "That sounds great! Just to confirm, is the role permanently remote, or will there be any office days in the future?" Recruiter: "Uh, it’s definitely 100% remote. No office time required at all." Candidate: "Perfect! Just wanted to make sure before moving forward." (Later finds out the role is hybrid) Lesson learned... Don’t make up details if you’re unsure. It’s okay not to have all the answers! Just be transparent with the candidate. Something like: “I’m not entirely sure, but I’ll reach out to the client and confirm that for you.” Honesty builds trust, and candidates appreciate when recruiters are upfront about the unknowns. At the end of the day, transparency saves everyone time and ensures the candidate is a good fit for the role. #Recruitingtips

Job seekers (pt.4) Here’s some LinkedIn profile advice: When recruiters search for candidates, they often filter by skills relevant to the roles they’re trying to fill. If your profile doesn’t list the right skills, you might be missing out on opportunities that match your expertise. Whether it's industry-specific software, technical abilities, or soft skills, including those keywords can make all the difference. Having a complete and detailed skills section not only boosts your visibility but also shows you're up-to-date. Your LinkedIn profile is your personal brand. Let it work for you.. #linkedin #jobseeking

Job seekers Some advice on interviews.. When preparing for an interview, don’t just focus on rehearsing your answers.. Also think about the questions you’ll ask. Good questions show you’re engaged and thinking long-term. Ask about company culture, growth opportunities, and the team’s goals. These questions not only give you insight into whether it’s the right fit for you but also leave a strong impression on the interviewer. Remember, an interview is a two-way street. You’re evaluating them just as much as they’re evaluating you! #interviewing #jobseeking

HR: "We’d like to offer you $135,000 for the position." Candidate: "That’s fantastic! Does the role include flexible working arrangements?" HR: "Actually, we prefer all employees to work from the office every day, with minimal flexibility." Candidate: "Is there any chance of a hybrid option, or even occasional remote days?" HR: "Unfortunately, our current policy is strictly in-office." Candidate: "In that case, I’ll have to pass on the offer." Key takeaway: Be transparent about your expectations from the beginning. But here’s the thing.. People’s priorities have evolved. Flexibility in where and how work gets done can be a dealbreaker for many. While companies need to adapt, as a candidate, make sure you’re asking the right questions upfront during the interview process!! Understanding the company’s policies on flexibility, remote work, or hybrid options early on can save you from potential disappointment later. It’s a two-way street. Know what matters to you and apply to roles that align with your values and work preferences. Thoughts? . . . Repost if you agree

Recruiter: "Hi there! I’d love to discuss a great opportunity with a competitive salary. Let’s hop on a call to go over the details." Candidate: "Thanks for reaching out! Could you share the salary range upfront before we schedule a call?" Recruiter: "We prefer to discuss that during the call, once we get to know the candidate better." Candidate: "I appreciate that, but having the salary range early would help me determine if this role aligns with my goals before we move forward." Recruiter: "Let’s just hop on a call and discuss the details. We can cover everything then." Candidate: "No, thank you. I really need to know the salary range upfront to make sure it makes sense. I don’t want to waste your time or mine." My biggest pet peeve is when recruiters avoid salary details like this! Salary is KEY for candidates when deciding if a role is worth considering. Even if clients don’t provide a specific number for you, be transparent about that too. It’s all about being upfront and efficient, saving time, and showing respect for the candidate’s decision-making process.

Job seekers Here’s another tip.. Don’t underestimate the power of your network. I always tell people: NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! Building relationships and staying connected can open doors you didn’t even know existed. A quick coffee chat, a LinkedIn message, or attending industry events might seem small, but these connections often lead to opportunities you wouldn’t find on job boards. Stay engaged, reach out, and keep those connections alive. You never know which one might lead to your next big career move! #jobseeking

Job seekers Here’s some advice.. When a recruiter reaches out and is transparent about the salary, job description, and company -take the call! Why not? Even if you’re not actively looking, it never hurts to listen. I know candidates who weren’t job hunting and still landed roles that completely changed their lives. Sometimes the best opportunities come when you’re not expecting them. #jobseeking
