As our thoughts remain with those affected by Hurricane Helene, departments throughout the City of Charlotte are doing their part to lend a hand. 1. Charlotte Water Assistance: Our Charlotte Water team is a part of NCWaterWARN and is providing crucial support to utilities in Western North Carolina including sending two 24” butterfly valves critical for restoring drinking water service. 2. Airport Support: Charlotte Douglas International Airport staff are traveling to Asheville to assist their airport operations. This support will help maintain critical transportation links for the region. 3. Emergency Services: Both our Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Charlotte Fire Department have dispatched personnel to the affected areas. These brave men and women are providing vital assistance in maintaining public safety and responding to emergencies. We encourage residents to join us in assisting relief and recovery efforts throughout N.C. If you feel inclined to help, please use the following link: http://cltgov.me/recovery Photos provided by the organizations listed above.

Hurricane Helene has caused monumental devastation to our neighbors in Western North Carolina. CLT Airport extends our deepest care and concern to everyone affected, and we stand in solidarity with all those struggling in the wake of this disaster. Along with our industry partners, CLT is responding to the call for help and mobilizing on-the-ground recovery support. If you are looking to contribute to the recovery response, consider donating to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund. These donations will go to nonprofits working to meet the immediate needs of storm victims such as food and water, cleaning items and emergency supplies.
