DOUG ALLEN WRF BERM | The City of Bartow sought ChastainSkillman | DCCM's expertise to prepare documents for the construction of a berm at the Doug Allen Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) in Bartow, FL. The wastewater plant is on the banks of the Peace River and was found to be vulnerable and prone to flooding in storm events after Hurricane Ian. This berm project was placed as emergency priority in order to be better prepared ahead of Hurricane Milton. ChastainSkillman | DCCM diligently and efficiently collected data and turned it into a working drawing for construction use by Vogel, a local contractor. The berm is an earthen dam made with natural materials, ultimately enhancing the WRF's floodwater prevention.

Our Lakeland team said farewell to interns Angel Martinez and Andrew Sawyer this week as they head into another school year. 👋 Angel, a student at the University of South Florida, spent his summer working closely with our civil engineering team. Angel listed site visits, client meetings, and learning about the various types of software our engineers use daily as some of his favorite experiences gained from his internship. Andrew, a student at the University of Florida, spent his summer working closely with our water/wastewater engineering team. Among the various projects he worked on, Andrew noted site visits, working directly with senior project engineers, and having a wide variety of projects to explore as some of his favorite parts of his internship. We're grateful you chose to spend your summer with us, Angel and Andrew. We wish you the very best in this new school year! Go Bulls! 🤘 Go Gators! 🐊

Exciting news for the City Of Auburndale! Lake Ariana Park is undergoing a major transformation to better serve the community. The renovation will feature a brand new 29,000 SQ FT civic center, a boathouse with kayak rentals, beach volleyball courts, a pier, a playground, and numerous seating areas and picnic pavilions scattered throughout the park. Springer Voss is proud to be the General Contractor spearheading this well-deserved upgrade and is set for completion by Summer 2025. Today, the CS team in Lakeland said farewell to Bryson Keel as he made his way onto his next adventure.👋 During his time at CS, Bryson was a tremendous asset to the marketing team in developing social media, web, and email marketing content, performing market trend research, and providing general administrative support. "I am so grateful for the time Bryson spent with our team. His warm personality, witty sense of humor, and desire to learn and grow within his craft made him a joy to work with.
