STUDENT SPOTLIGHT // Makenna Schwab is a senior at the University of Washington studying Journalism and Public Interest Communications. This summer, Makenna worked as the student employee in the Communications Department at the PUD. As a student employee, Makenna gained skills like developing strategic communications plans, writing press releases, working with local media and supporting internal and external campaigns. In her free time, she enjoys reading, catching a ball game, or spending time with her friends and family. Makenna was a great addition to the Communications team! ---- ENFOQUE ESTUDIANTIL // Makenna Schwab es estudiante de último año en la Universidad de Washington, donde estudia Periodismo y Comunicaciones de Interés Público. Este verano, Makenna trabajó como empleada estudiantil en el Departamento de Comunicaciones en el PUD. Como empleada estudiantil, Makenna adquirió habilidades tal como desarrollar planes de comunicación estratégica, redactar comunicados de prensa, trabajar con los medios locales y apoyar campañas internas y externas. En su tiempo libre ella disfruta leer, asistir a partidos deportivos o pasar tiempo con sus amigos y familiares. ¡Makenna fue una gran adición al equipo de Comunicaciones!

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT // Gabe Mitrakul is a senior at Gonzaga University studying Electrical Engineering. For the past two summers, Gabe has worked as a student employee in Chelan PUD’s Control Systems Engineering Department. During his time at the PUD, Gabe has learned different ways to problem solve, and approach daily tasks in different ways. Outside of work, he can be found skiing, hiking and playing the piano. Gabe has been a great addition to the Control Systems team! ---- ENFOQUE EN ESTUDIANTES // Gabe Mitrakul es un estudiante de Ingeniería Eléctrica en la Universidad de Gonzaga. Durante los últimos dos veranos, Gabe ha trabajado como empleado estudiantil en el Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas de Control de Chelan PUD. Durante su tiempo en el PUD, Gabe ha aprendido diferentes formas de resolver problemas. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT // David Olvera is junior at the University of Washington studying Mechanical Engineering. This summer, David worked as Chelan PUD’s Project Delivery Department’s student employee. In that time, David gained great experience in validating, design and how to analyze a device or design and how it could fail. When not at work or school, David enjoys exploring the outdoors and hiking around Chelan County and North Cascades areas. David has been a great addition to the Project Delivery team! ---- ENFOQUE EN ESTUDIANTES // David Olvera es estudiante de Ingeniería Mecánica en la Universidad de Washington. Este verano, David trabajó como empleado estudiantil del Departamento de Entrega de Proyectos de Chelan PUD. Durante su colaboración con el PUD, David adquirió una gran experiencia diseñando dispositivos. Cuando no está en el trabajo o en la escuela, a David le gusta explorar el aire libre y hacer senderismo por las áreas del condado de Chelan y North Cascades. ¡David ha sido una gran adición al equipo de entrega de proyectos!
