Chesapeake was thrilled to partner with the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden by providing educational signage, which takes visitors on a “learning safari” as they explore the Zoo’s newest and largest habitat, Expedition Africa. If you haven’t checked out Expedition Africa yet, be sure to do so!

Before Syed Sajjad returned to Southern Methodist University, he shared the following insight from his internship in our Investor Relations department. “The energy business is sometimes portrayed in the media as negative to society and something that needs to be phased out. This couldn’t be further from the truth, as nearly everything we use every day is a derivative of a natural resource, from the electricity that powers our ovens to the roads we drive on. There are plenty of opportunities for young professionals to grow in the industry, and I would encourage anyone looking to start a career to keep an open mind.” That’s a wrap for our 2024 interns! We wish them the best of luck as they return to school. If interested in 2025 internship opportunities, please be sure to apply this fall.

Campbell Walker, senior at Davidson College, interned with our IT department learning the ins and outs of PowerBI and SQL. “This summer has been an amazing opportunity to gain insight into the industry and build valuable skills that will help me throughout my professional journey. I have learned the importance of collaboration and the power of asking questions. I have enjoyed meeting the other interns and getting involved in the Chesapeake community. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity and for everyone who has supported me throughout this summer,” shared Campbell.

As our interns prepare to return to school, we want to thank them for their dedication, bright ideas, and desire to learn this summer. This week, we are sharing some of their experiences. “I've learned a lot about the collaboration that goes into working in the field and the many departments that work together to achieve a common goal. My favorite part has been getting outside (even in the incredibly hot weather) and driving to the beautiful sites surrounded by gorgeous trees. I have enjoyed watching people come together at these sites, and the safety mindset that everyone is looking out for each other,” said Emma Knight a Chemical Engineering junior at Brigham Young University interning with our Haynesville operations team.

To ensure students have what they need for the new year, Chesapeake donated 700 clear backpacks to the Captain Shreve High in Shreveport, as the school recently announced new safety measures, requiring all students to carry clear backpacks beginning this school year. “One of Chesapeake’s four charitable pillars is safety, and being good neighbors in the community, and that’s what we hope to achieve here today,” says Tyler Goodwin, Landman at Chesapeake. https://lnkd.in/gdpBxGHr
