As steward of Chicago’s gateways to the world, the CDA remains forever committed to creating safe, passenger-centric facilities that reflect the rich, diverse and unique character of Chicago and its people. CORE GOALS •Own responsibility for the passenger experience by clearly defining levels of service standards, monitoring and analyzing those standards based on key performance indicators, and taking action to deliver on and continually improve the passenger experience standards at Chicago’s airports. •Inspire the next generation of Chicagoans to pursue a career in the aviation field through new partnerships and a robust community outreach and educational program focused on encouraging young people from across Chicagoland to pursue careers as aviation professionals, while developing a system to track career progression among youths engaged by the department through these efforts. •Be a good neighbor to the communities that surround Chicago’s airports by continually engaging with local leaders and ensuring residents are equipped with information about the airport’s activities, operations and programs. •Think commercially by optimizing assets on airport property and in the terminal facilities, and monitoring and acting upon passenger delay and discretionary opportunity for expenditure, which grows non-airline revenue and decreases costs for airline partners.

#Summer travel is here and Chicago's airports are ready to welcome the close to two million passengers that will be traveling through O'Hare and Midway International Airports this #IndependenceDay holiday weekend. Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead, use public transportation, and arrive early. CDA's #ChiOnTheFly entertainment series will be in full effect from July 3 to July 5 and features a guest appearance from "Uncle Sam." It's #TakeYourDogToWorkDay! Did you know more than two dozen TSA K-9s work at Chicago's airports? For #TakeYourDogToWorkDay, we're taking a look at a few of them. Figor, Ranger, and Joco patrol the concourses of Midway International Airport, while Asi and Jam hit the busy terminals of O'Hare. The dogs are trained to sniff out explosive devices. They work closely with their handlers and even live at home with them, so they have a real bond beyond their professional mission. Figor is an 8-year-old German Shepard who loves to play at the park when he's not at work. Ranger and Joco are both German Shorthair Pointers. Ranger likes playing in the snow and being near the water, while Joco prefers relaxing in his bed and playing with his toys. Asi is 4 years old and loves munching on organic chicken chips! Jam, on the other hand, would rather enjoy apples and bananas in a park filled with squirrels.
