TV producer Chuck Lorre's foundation has given a substantial donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to help train more people for careers in medicine. Paul S. Viviano, president and CEO of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, said the gift is one of the three largest the pediatric system has ever received. "It will have a profound impact on the future of health care locally and nationally," he said.

With Hurricane Milton heading toward Florida, some hospitals have evacuated and some facilities have transferred patients.
