Child Trends asked 433 early educators and 319 families in Minnesota about their experiences with the early care and education (ECE) system. Commonly identified stressors among educators include staffing shortages, low compensation, and inadequate benefits. Although many families reported positive changes in their children’s ECE experiences, one in four families said it has been harder to find high-quality ECE within their budget since the COVID-19 pandemic. https://lnkd.in/eaugPCNb

Child Trends partnered with the Center for Schools and Communities to create a toolkit that answers key questions school staff may have about the Afghan refugee population. The toolkit offers strategies, tips, and resources to implement culturally responsive family engagement techniques and trauma-informed approaches school staff can use in their work with Afghan refugee families. https://lnkd.in/eMewx2rS
