May 31, 2022, and August 2, 2024, hold monumental significance for the O'Shay family. The first was the day that Lane, their then 3-year-old, was diagnosed with leukemia, and the second was the day when the toll of a bell exclaimed to both Lane's care team and friends and family that his treatment was done! We are excited to celebrate that the students The Rise School of San Antonio at CHRISTUS Children's has officially started classes! Recently a ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the beginning of an incredible journey for the children and families who will be part of this innovative preschool. The Rise School, which serves children with and without developmental delays, combines learning and therapeutic practices to ensure every child is prepared to succeed. Our partnership reflects CHRISTUS Children's commitment to pediatric neurosciences, and we are proud to provide the Rise School with donated space and therapeutic services at lower costs for families. We can't wait to see this best-in-class model's positive impact on our community.

We recently announced the opening of the Panda Cares Center of Hope, a space where children could heal mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This inpatient rehab clinic was made possible by the associates and guests of Panda Express, who continued to help us change kids' health and change the future. On Panda Cares Day, a day dedicated to commemorating the anniversary of #PandaCares, we gathered to officially open the center and celebrate the generosity of Panda Express and its patrons! https://lnkd.in/gSNQSEt3

Have you herd? 🐄 We're bringing the CowParade back to San Antonio in 2025, but we need your help! CowParade is the largest public art event in the world and features 75 life-size cow sculptures that will be painted by local artists. Artists ranging from amateur to acclaimed can apply for their chance to display their work on one of the cows! Thanks to the dedication of our nursing leaders, our Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is officially up and running after months of meticulous planning and development. The CDU provides a specialized space for our medical teams to assess patients who don't meet inpatient criteria but require further monitoring or treatment. With evidence-based care and a focus on patient experience, this observation unit is crucial to our surge plan, optimizing hospital resources during peak demand. 

LET'S HAVE A PARADE🥳🦃🤡! We celebrated the Thanksgiving Holiday with a fun-filled parade, emceed by Henry Ramos and Maggie Laughlin from KENS 5! Thanks to all of our departments who created floats, and congratulations to our float winner, Music Therapy🎅!
