One of the things I most love about my job at the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), is that nobody has done it before me. That means I am getting a lot of "firsts" as we build up CIAT's Public Affairs presence, and I am getting to learn a lot in the process. Today, Tara Page and I met Kevin Hollinrake MP, the Shadow Housing Secretary. This was the first meeting CIAT has had with Mr Hollinrake, and it was great to speak to him about how Chartered Architectural Technologists are contributing to delivering a high-quality, sustainable built environment, and how we can support them to do even more brilliant work. It was also the first time I have personally met a Shadow Secretary of State. And the learning point? Don't forget to take a nice picture for social media, even if the Minister does have to rush off to a debate in the Commons.
