  • Exciting news: we’ve been awarded a grant through @NYCulture’s FY25 Cultural Development Fund!! As one of 1,078 groups across the city to receive a CDF grant, we’re proud to deliver arts programming that engages NYers and contributes to NYC’s extraordinary cultural landscape. Thank you to all the reviewers and folks at DCLA and CDF who made this possible for us. NYC Department of Cultural Affairs

  • #GivingTuesday TODAY, Tuesday, December 3. City Growers uses urban nature as a springboard for developing the next generation of climate leaders. At our home base- Brooklyn Grange rooftop farms, youth are equipped with the tools to create their own climate solutions and given the support to rcreate youth led solutions to climate change. City Growers runs two transformative and paid teen programs, Bee Ambassadors and Green Ambassadors, that: - Build environmental leaders composed of diverse participants from across the city who are rooted in their community; - Provide hands-on skill building in protecting and growing New York City’s vibrant urban ecosystem through hands on learning and workforce development; - Support participants in developing leadership skills in communication, teamwork, public speaking, and more; - Expose participants to other organizations and people who are creating change and working towards climate solutions in New York City. Unfortunately, the demand for this program is growing and last year we could only accept about 10% of applicants. We hope to be able to add more positions in 2025 through the generosity of individual supporters. We're aiming to raise $30,000 to support our programming this year Please consider a donation of any size here: https://lnkd.in/d8TTxrC5 Enjoy some quotes from participants!
