About us

Beloit is located on the southern Wisconsin state line near the Interstate 39/90 and I-43 interchange. Beloit was forged in fire and heavy industrial manufacturing, but we survived the great recession with a renewed spirit. We celebrate a proud legacy of strength, beauty, and diversity. Some of our greatest assets include, our world-class riverfront, our charming downtown, the internationally renowned Beloit College and historic residential neighborhoods.

We are celebrating Municipal Clerk's Week. These amazing individuals serve our residents every day from issuing dog licenses to administering fair elections. Thank you to all you do to serve the Beloit community! This year, May 5 through May 11, will be the 55th Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week, initiated in 1969 by IIMC (International Institute of Municipal Clerks) and is endorsed by all of its members throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries. In 1984 and in 1994, Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, respectively, signed a Proclamation officially declaring Professional Municipal Clerks Week the first full week of May and recognizing the essential role Municipal Clerks play in local government.
