The Mayor's Youth Employment Program (MYEP) offered more than 450 paid, work-based learning opportunities for high school students this summer. Internships like this offer hands-on experience, introducing students to new careers and giving them practical experience in areas in which they are interested. The exposure students gain during MYEP helps them discover their career interests and allows them to explore traditional and unconventional roles early on. Learn more from program participants Sharvil and Dylan (pictured) at cltgov.me/3yNzAvQ.

Join Us for the 5th Annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference in Charlotte! We’re thrilled to announce the City of Charlotte's fifth annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference, happening from September 29 to October 2. When you hear "DEI Conference," race and gender often come to mind, but this event is so much more. We're expanding the conversation to include recruitment strategies, legal frameworks, cultural diversity, and human relations. Our workplaces are evolving, and so must we. The theme, “Bridging Perspectives, Empowering Change with Intentional Inclusion,” speaks directly to this need. Sticking to the familiar can be tempting, but true growth comes when we step outside our comfort zones. Continuing to do things "the way they've always been done" can stifle innovation and progress. We all know that repeating the same actions and expecting different results is the very definition of insanity. This conference is more than just a dialogue—it’s a catalyst for change. We'll explore how to dismantle organizational and personal barriers, paving the way for true inclusion and sustained success. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of the conversation that will shape the future of our workplaces. 👉 Register today: Eventbrite Link #DEI #Leadership #Empowerment #IntentionalInclusion #CharlotteEvents #DiversityMatters

The City of Charlotte launched a new Strategic Progress Tracker to measure headway on key priorities and policy goals established by City Council and highlighted during their January annual strategy meeting. This innovative tool will enhance visibility in the city's efforts to achieve its goals by linking Council’s strategic priority areas and previously adopted plans like the Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan, the Strategic Energy Action Plan, and the Strategic Mobility Plan. The tracker will be updated bi-annually and monitor progress across five strategic priority areas: 1️⃣ Well-Managed Government 2️⃣ Great Neighborhoods 3️⃣ Safe Communities 4️⃣ Transportation and Planning 5️⃣ Workforce and Business Development "Our Strategic Progress Tracker is an important tool to assure Charlotte residents that we are committed to serving them and turning our shared vision into reality,” said City Manager Marcus Jones. “Charlotte is one of the top-ranked cities for the value of services we provide to our community, and this tracker will help ensure that we continue providing exceptional services to our residents.” The Strategic Progress Tracker is now available on the city's website at charlottenc.gov/progress. #CLTCC #StrategicProgressTracker #StrategicPriorities
