Mayor Darrell Davis addresses a common question we’ve heard from Edmond residents – “How were these projects selected?” Edmond on the GO, a General Obligation Bond program, would fund the highest priority improvements Edmond residents expect. The program includes 22 projects in three categories - streets, parks, and fire safety. A 25-member citizen’s advisory task force, appointed by City Council, met over the summer to determine the proposed projects. The group also recommended a citizen’s oversight committee be named, should voters approve the program. If approved by voters, Edmond on the GO will add 20 intersections to Edmond’s Intelligent Traffic System (ITS). The General Obligation Bond on the ballot November 5 expands ITS – a system that uses real time technology to improve traffic flow and safety during heavy traffic periods, emergencies, and construction and maintenance activities. ITS keeps traffic flowing at the same pace – even when there’s a 40% increase in traffic volume. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/gPKZRAjt
