Last week, the City held a public meeting to gather residents' input on potential improvements to Lions Park. Residents had a chance to ask questions and offer their thoughts. Here are some of the improvements we are considering. Please note that this is still in the planning phase, so this list may change. We'll share the final plans when they are ready. - Pickleball courts - Shelter & restrooms - Playground - Wiffle ball field - Bags/horseshoe court - Open lawn - Trail - Shade structures - Bridge - Bioretention cell - Parking - Light bollards

The reconstruction of the Autumn Trail is almost complete! The City resurfaced the trail due to significant deterioration and widened it to 10 feet. Crews are backfilling the trail and seeding. The trail is ready for use, but keep an eye out for contractors finishing these final touches. And check out this before and after video. Thank you for your patience as we continue to invest in aging parts of our community!

Take us back to the Fall Festival! Thank you to the @Polk County Sheriff's Office for partnering with us on this great event this weekend. The fall fun continues on October 20th at Trunk or Treat. Grab your costume and head to the South Sports Complex from 2 pm to 4 pm. Local businesses will have trunk decorated for Halloween. There will be activities and plenty of candy!

The Fall Festival is tomorrow, Saturday, October 12th from 10 am to 2 pm at the South Sports Complex. Here's your checklist to make the most out of the event. 1. Parking Park either at South Prairie Elementary, Grimes Community Center, Wallace Farm, or limited parking at the South Sports Complex. Parking is not available at St Peter's church due to construction on S James St. 2. Grab something tasty at one of these food trucks: Hy-Vee, Charolette’s Kitchen, Rok the Wok, Snappy’s BBQ, Kona Ice, Sweet Swirl’s, Anita’s Taco Truck, Flame the Food Truck, JeffEPop, Twist Sips, and/or What the Fries. 3. Enjoy these can't miss activities: bounce houses, balloon animals, face painters, candy from vendors, Polk County Sheriffs and JGMFD activities.
