About us
The natural beauty and perfect winter climate combine to make the City of Indio the leading city in the region. Located in the Coachella Valley in Southern California, Indio spans 30 square miles and is the largest municipality in the Valley, both in area and population. Following significant growth in the region, Indio has seen a 73% increase of residents since 2000. This dramatic growth and success in recent years has required strategic response by City leadership in the upgrade of infrastructure and services. Today the population in Indio is approximately 90,000. Indio has historically been the main population center in the Coachella Valley and continues to serve as the location for Riverside County’s eastern branch offices.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Indio Business Connect (IBC), unveiled at the largest State of the City in the City of Indio’s history! In response to feedback from Indio’s business owners, who voiced their need for more business support services, the City, through the Economic Development Department, proudly created IBC. This exciting new program is free for all Indio-based businesses and offers invaluable benefits like one-on-one consulting, business development resources, and special events. Fully funded by the City, IBC aims to foster a thriving, collaborative business environment that supports growth for both startups and long-established companies. The program is enhanced through partnerships with local organizations like CSUSB School of Entrepreneurship, Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) and the Coachella Valley Women's Business Center, bringing tailored educational programs like the Mini MBA and the ¡Tú Sí Puedes! programs for entrepreneurs. IBC will also introduce new Shop Local initiatives, a monthly "Indio Impact" newsletter, and business mixers to help our community stay connected and growing.
