The City of Kennesaw and Kennesaw Parks & Recreation celebrated the opening of the new Fit Station at Swift-Cantrell Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 25. The park is located at 3140 Old 41 Hwy NW. The 24-by-54-foot Fit Station features 12 exercise stations, all built on a poured rubber surface for improved accessibility. Equipment includes a Cardio Walker, Captain’s Chair, Recumbent Cycle, Chest Press, Bench Dip Station, Leg Press, Lat Pull-Down, Balance Board, Horizontal Chin-Up, Hand Cycle and Low Push-Up Bar. Designed for a complete workout, it allows users to train in aerobic fitness, muscle strength, balance, core stability and flexibility. The station is also equipped with Langy FTO1 Series Solar Lights, providing ample illumination during park hours. The project was funded through impact fees. Kennesaw remains dedicated to encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle for residents of all ages. The Fit Station is the latest addition to help citizens achieve their fitness goals.

NO glass, metal or electronics will be accepted at this event. Only personal & private documents will be allowed for shredding. There is a 10-box limit on each household or business. The event is free and open to all.

Registration is now open for the 2025 Black History Bowl! The Black History Bowl is a fun, competitive and educational event for middle school-aged teens. This year, we anticipate 48 teams will compete in the early round qualifier on January 20. Teams can be formed from schools, youth organizations, church groups or just a group of friends who want to compete. Teams will answer various Black history-related questions in science, the arts, education, sports, entertainment, civil rights and politics in a fast-paced, game show-style format.
