The City of Luverne is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator! In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring clean and safe water for our community. Responsibilities: - Operate and maintain the city's water and wastewater systems - Perform maintenance on sewer and water mains - Operate water filtration and wastewater disposal systems - Take samples, perform tests, and record results - Respond to emergencies like water main breaks and sewer backups - Attend training sessions for water and wastewater operators Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED - Must have or work towards Class D Wastewater Treatment and Class D Water Supply System Operator certifications (within 24 months) - Valid Minnesota Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement (or able to obtain within 12 months) - Experience in water/wastewater treatment a plus - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions - Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills Compensation & Benefits: - Full-Range Salary: $18.88 - $30.58/hour - Generally M-F, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (with on-call rotation) - Union Affiliation: AFSCME Council 65 - Comprehensive benefits package Ready to make a difference?
