We are happy to share that our City Hall is a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite! We join the BZP in demonstrating a deep commitment to creating a healthier workplace and promoting a culture where healthy choices are available, by default! We are investing in the health of our employees! Blue Zones Project is a community-wide health initiative designed to make healthier choices easier. National Geographic researcher, Dan Buettner, found places around the world where people were living longer, happier, and healthier lives. From this work, he found nine “secrets to longevity” and the project implements these in the work they do with people, places, and policy. Our Commitment and Partnership includes: • Blue Zones Project Communication plan • Monthly Employee Engagement Activities • Promoting Employee Wellness & Volunteer Activities • Catering & Vending Guidelines • Incorporating Microbreaks • A Designated Walking Path Around City Hall – adding 200 steps to a day • New signage – No smoking • Updating Policy Language • And much more! Learn more about the Blue Zones Project and be sure to watch their Netflix Series: https://lnkd.in/gXrfHjxZ
