NEW EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY The Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation – Field Services, under the general direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation, plays a key role in developing and implementing division-wide goals, objectives, and policies. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing capital improvement projects and operations of parks, conservancies, urban forestry, and other natural resource areas and facilities, and preparing and managing the associated capital and operating budgets. This role involves hands-on leadership, with active participation in work assignments as necessary to fulfill the division’s mission. As a vital member of the Parks and Recreation Department’s leadership team, this position actively contributes to long-term planning, formulates, and executes management plans and strategies, cultivates community support, and coordinates public educational activities related to public parks, conservancy, and recreational spaces. This dual commitment to strategic leadership and direct involvement in operational tasks underscores the comprehensive approach necessary to achieve division goals.
