DEI Life for many families in our community isn't easy. It can be hard to pay bills, buy groceries, transport kids to school, work a full-time job, and still carve out time to stand on that sideline in anticipation of one brief moment of glory. I applaud those who make the time. I salute those who stand in the cold snow and the pouring rain just to hopefully see one smile, one moment where all the worries and troubles disappear, one play that allows their child to feel like they are on top of the world! Mayor’s Weekly Recap: Mayor’s Message: Dear Residents of Pawtucket, I’m thrilled to announce that Fire Station 1 on West Avenue is re-opening after extensive renovations! This historic station, which has served our community for over a century, is back and better than ever, ready to continue its vital role in protecting our neighborhoods.  Reopening Fire Station 1 is a proud moment for me and for all of Pawtucket. With its modernized facilities, the station stands as a testament to our collective effort to enhance the quality of life for everyone. I’m incredibly grateful for your support throughout this renovation process. Together, we’ve ensured that this cornerstone of Pawtucket remains a strong and reliable presence for years to come. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating the station’s official re-opening on Sunday, August 25th at 11 am. Let’s come together for a fun-filled day to commemorate this milestone. We’re incredibly proud of her leadership, check out the full story to see the positive impact she continues to have on our community! DEI At City Hall, we're fortunate to have a coworker who brightens our Fridays in a unique way. Every week, Mark Stankiewicz, our City’s Finance Director, goes around delivering Dove chocolates to all of us, simply to make our day a little better and to wish everyone a great weekend. Even if someone isn’t at their desk, Mark leaves a chocolate behind, just to let them know he was thinking of them. This week, the message inside my Dove chocolate said, “One small step can lead to something big,” and it made me reflect on Mark’s thoughtful gesture. What might seem like a small act—delivering chocolates—has had a significant impact on our office culture. It's a reminder that small, consistent actions can lead to big, positive changes. As we approach the fresh start of the new school year, I encourage everyone to take this to heart. Whether it’s trying something new, showing kindness to others, or stepping up in a challenging situation, one small step can lead to something greater. And to Mark, thank you for reminding us all that life is indeed a little sweeter with a bit of chocolate.   Charles "Chachi" Carvalho Chief Equity Officer City of Pawtucket Stay connected for more updates! https://lnkd.in/e2VJ4Mcr

DEI The Yellow Pinto By: Charles "Chachi" Carvalho The yellow Pinto rolled slow but seemed to fit the whole world in it.
