It was a banner year for the City of Tallahassee at the annual Corporate Cup Challenge! The City’s coed team, “Squad Goals,” won first place overall, marking back-to-back victories! The team includes Amelia Bryant and Jack Beasley (both with Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure), alongside John Reddick from Growth Management and Elise Fisher from the CRA. The Tallahassee Police Department TAC team came in first place in the All Male division, followed closely by its Case Closers team in second. Additionally, TPD TAC came in second overall, and Case Closers earned third overall. A special shoutout to Jack, who took home individual honors by winning the biking event, and Amelia, who claimed first place in the women’s running event. The Corporate Cup Challenge brings co-workers from various companies around town together each fall as teams of four compete for the Corporate Cup – the esteemed trophy that shows their commitment to teamwork, fun and fitness. It’s a unique opportunity for co-workers to get outdoors, stay active, build teamwork and enjoy time together. Co-workers, family, friends and pets gather to cheer them on. It's Florida City Government Week! Check back each weekday as we highlight some of the many services, programs and initiatives underway with the City of Tallahassee. Today, we spotlight our major construction projects, which will each help enhance the robust public services we provide. The Southside Transit Center will expand opportunities for people to connect to economic, education and leisure activities. The second Senior Center will expand recreational, health, learning and social opportunities for our growing population of active adults. After working for decades out a building that is more than 100 years old & originally built for a different purpose, the City of Tallahassee Police Department's new headquarters will provide ample space for a growing, modern law enforcement agency. Public investment is crucial for building strong communities & driving economic growth. By investing in our future, we’re creating opportunities for everyone & fostering a thriving environment for generations to come.
