The City of Taylor proudly announces that Assistant City Manager Tom Yantis was honored with the Assistant of the Year Award in Memory of Valerie Bradley by the Texas City Management Association (TCMA), and Deputy City Manager Jeff Jenkins received the 2024 TCMA Service Award for his 20 years of dedicated service. Both awards were presented at the TCMA Annual Conference Awards Luncheon on June 21 in South Padre Island. Taylor City Manager Brian LaBorde is pleased to announce that the City of Taylor has hired Daniel Seguin to be the City’s new Communications Director. Mr. Seguin has served as the Director of Communications and Tourism for the City of Jacksonville for almost three years. “We’re thrilled to have Daniel join our team,” said City Manager LaBorde, “His extensive experience will be a great attribute to our award-winning Communications Department. We look forward to his expertise in continuing to enhance the City’s communications goals and engagement with our residents and stakeholders.” Mr. Seguin will be responsible for the oversight of the City’s Communications Department, which develops internal and external communications. He will oversee the City’s social media channels, media relations, website, and marketing efforts. Additionally, he will play a key role in crisis communications and community engagement initiatives. This afternoon, Mayor Dwayne Ariola, Mayor Pro Tem Kelly Cmerek, and Council Members Shelli Cobb, Gerald Anderson, and Robert Garcia joined Governor Greg Abbott and Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell, along with Samsung representatives and other local and state officials to celebrate the official ribbon cutting ceremony for Samsung Highway, signaling the official completion of Segment 1 and 2 of the project. 📸Photos courtesy of the Taylor Press.

The City Council recognized the City's Communication Officers during last week's City Council meeting with a proclamation recognizing this week as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We would like to commend our Communication Officers for their professional and unending service who answer 911 calls on a 24/7 daily basis.
