About us
Worthington is a strong suburban community in the vibrant Columbus, Ohio region, ideally located at the northern crossroads of I-270, I-71 & SR 315, with easy access to, from and around the central Ohio region. History The earliest planned community in Ohio, Worthington was settled in 1803. Early leaders purchased 16,000 acres of land and planned the layout for the village. Worthington was platted as a New England-type village around a central public square, which was designated for religious and educational purposes, as well as a spot for community gatherings. This area remains today as our Village Green and still maintains the values of Worthington’s founders, while also anchoring one of Central Ohio’s most iconic downtown historic districts. Worthington Today Today Worthington remains committed to thoughtful planning and development. As a mature community, the focus is on planned redevelopment of existing properties and land. Worthington includes a mix of unique retail establishments and restaurants in our historic Old Worthington district, office and professional businesses in the Wilson Bridge Road and High Street corridors, and industrial and office in our Huntley Road corridor. For more information, please contact Assistant City Manager David McCorkle at (614) 436-4518, email david.mccorkle@worthington.org, or through LinkedIn.

Worthington Police teamed up with the new Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations Electronic Fraud Investigations Unit to crack a case and recover over $130,000 stolen from a Worthington resident lost in a cryptocurrency scam. Because the scam was reported quickly, agents were able to freeze the transaction and return the funds to the victim. “These days most financial transactions are electronic, creating an opportunity for online criminals and scammers to commit crimes – but you don’t have to be a victim,” said Worthington Chief of Police Eric Grile. “The solution to the issue is to be vigilant and report suspicious activity, immediately. Thanks for the work of BCI, they were able to recover some of the money back for our resident.” ➡️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/eSqQUap7 #WorthingtonPolice

Worthington’s sister city relationship with Sayama, Japan was center stage recently. Sayama is located in the Saitama Prefecture, which is Ohio’s sister state. Saitama Governor Motohiro Ono was in town for the 2024 Midwest Japan-America Conference and invited Worthington dignitaries to attend the Taste of Saitama food fair, featuring food and drinks produced in Saitama, Japan. Our sister city, Sayama, is well known for its green tea production. Worthington Mayor Scott Holmes, City Council President Rachael Dorothy, and Worthington International Friendship Association President Nicky Robie met with Governor Ono, exchanged gifts, and displayed the flags of Worthington and Sayama. Worthington and Sayama have been sister cities for 25 years and have a relationship dating back to 1993. We send greetings to our friends in Sayama and our thanks to Governor Ono for including us in this special event. #WorthingtonOhio #SisterCity #SayamaJapan
