Last year we provided Thanksgiving "baskets" to nearly 400 families and community members to help make their Thanksgiving a little brighter. Today is World Homeless Day, a day that serves as a platform to celebrate good works, benchmark progress, advocate for improved policies and funding that can help prevent homelessness. At the City Rescue Mission, God has called us to provide safe shelter, a hot meal and spiritual care to those suffering from homelessness, as well as to guide them to other agencies for assistance with housing and other wrap around services. We also advocate to our local, state and federal elected officials for policies that provide the highest level of compassionate care to those battling homelessness. Thank you to everyone who attended our Sunday Brunch at the Mission yesterday! Our staff loved not only providing you with a delicious brunch, but also spending time with each of you explaining the various services that the City Rescue Mission offers.
