cityCURRENT connects businesses with community to power the GOOD and foster purpose-driven relationships.

About us

cityCURRENT connects businesses with community to power the GOOD and to foster purpose-driven relationships that lead to new opportunities for collaboration and growth through events, media, and philanthropy. A team of more than 120 partner businesses, comprised of some of the largest and most influential employers in the world to mid-size and smaller firms, come together to align resources and to host and underwrite the costs of more than 300 events each year and an array of media to impact Memphis, Nashville, Fort Worth and beyond. Since the organization's establishment in 2005, cityCURRENT has served the community by hosting seminars and workshops, bringing in national guest speakers with our Signature Breakfast Series, hosting weekly lunches, and a variety of other events to provide valuable content and foster teamwork and collaboration among business and community leaders. These events are underwritten by our corporate partners, so they are free for the community to attend. cityCURRENT then provides easy, turnkey opportunities for organizations and individuals to become more engaged in the community and leverages its collective resources to make an impact through volunteer days, action projects, nonprofit tours, charitable contributions and more. Examples include tutoring after school, mentoring, washing the feet of over 3,000 kids and providing them with new shoes and socks, and providing a wounded Veteran Hero a mortgage free home. cityCURRENT produces television and radio shows, along with a podcast, and weekly newspaper columns. The company has two books that focus on achieving success in life and business while helping others in the process; and both books give back to support youth literacy programs. cityCURRENT also contributes to national media outlets, like Forbes Magazine. All efforts are focused on spotlighting positive news, lessons learned, and tips and ways people and companies can become an even greater force for good.

For our last cityCURRENT #Nashville Nonprofit tour of 2024 we had the privilege of visiting a local landmark, Adventure Science Center. For over 75 years, Adventure Science Center has been bringing science to life for students, teachers, and families in Middle Tennessee and across the U.S. The science center offers engaging learning experiences and science fun through hands-on, interactive exhibits, and innovative programs and the state-of-the-art Sudekum Planetarium. Chief Development Officer, Joel Abramson was so gracious and entertaining taking us through 3 floors of interactive exhibits, interesting installations, and updating us on all the incredible new exhibits coming in the near future. Obviously this is an amazing place for children, but the science center also offers a lot to teens and adults such as their 21+ Way Late Play Dates with themes like Hogwarts Holiday Break on December 6th and the upcoming Science of Beer and the Science of Cocktails. No matter how young or old, the Adventure Science Center has something for everyone. Our event sponsor was #cityCURRENTPartner, Element 47, LLC and founder Eric Jackson. Element 47’s core purpose is to cultivate growth and connection through their good work in branding, marketing, and advertising, and they are the best at what they do. Thank you for hosting and for bringing out your team to join us. #AdventureScienceCenter #MiddleTN #powertheGOOD #cityCURRENT | Kelly Roy Meyers | Eileen Vick
