Our #AuburnPolice Department will host the internationally respected and sought-after Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) Instructor Certification course this December! Set for Dec. 3-5, the course will teach law enforcement officers the integrated use of the three most commonly used duty belt tools: baton, restraints and tactical flashlight. Made in Alabama - Alabama Department of Commerce released its 2023 Alabama New & Expanding Industry Report this week, and Lee County came out on top in job creation and capital investment numbers. Here in Auburn, we had one new industry location and seven industry expansions covering industrial sectors from automotive to soft drinks, plastics and fabricated metal product manufacturing. “We’ve had a long-term strategy in Auburn of recruiting a diversified industrial base built around small- to medium-sized, technology-based, value-added manufacturing companies,” said Auburn Mayor Ron Anders. “This has allowed consistent, annual industry locations and expansions bringing well-paying jobs and economic stability over time.” Read more at the link below:

The #AuburnPolice Department will host Geofence Investigations Training for law enforcement personnel on May 9. 🗺 The one-day course will help officers learn how to use geofencing technology to investigate crimes that have occurred in a specific area. Calling all law enforcement officers! The #AuburnPolice Department will host a Police Motorcycle Operator Training course April 1-12. Participants will learn how to operate a police motorcycle in a variety of situations with classroom training, track course work, street riding exercises and firearms training. Space is limited and restricted to active law enforcement personnel. REQUIREMENTS: ➡ A department-issued motorcycle, currently assigned to you, or a similar motorcycle approved for street riding exercises. The bike should be in good condition and have a pre-course maintenance check. ➡ On-duty weapon, holster rig ➡ Rain gear ➡ Boots that cover your ankle or dress boots ➡ Riding gloves ➡ Light or heavy jacket, weather dependent ➡ Eyes and ears protection ➡ Approved helmet ➡ Ample supply of jeans/casual wear ➡ Body armor (vest) ➡ 200 rounds of target ammunition ➡ Athletic cup (recommended) ➡ A motorcycle driver license endorsement, if required by resident state

The #AuburnPolice Department is hosting a class for those interested in becoming bike officer instructors! The Law Enforcement Bicycle Association Instructor School will run March 4-9. The class will stress teamwork and overcoming obstacles with an emphasis on teaching technique. Participants must be a member of a city, county, state, federal or military law enforcement agency and should have successfully completed a basic class "A" or "B" certified LEBA course or its equivalent.
