City of San José employees made special donations of professional business attire to the San José State University (SJSU) Career Closet. SJSU students schedule appointments at the Career Closet to shop for clothing to wear (and keep!) for interviews and job fairs—at no charge. 👔👗 The clothing drive was organized by the City of San José SJSU Alumni Employee Resource Group (ERG) leadership team (pictured below): Regina Maurantonio, Chris Arkley, and Maria Garcia. ✨   #WeAreSanJosé #CityofSanJoséCareers 

Today, Senator Dave Cortese and the City of San José co-hosted the Unhoused Health Fair at San José City Hall. This event helped unhoused residents connect with health service providers, City services, and local community groups: all ready to help people experiencing homelessness in our communities.    The Housing Department distributed donated coats and clothing, while Animal Care & Services provided vaccinations and microchipping for pets. The Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department shared details about BeautifySJ programs. The San José Public Library offered resources regarding education, employment, and technology access.

Chapter 5 Part 2 of our Year in Review video series continues to highlight the key work of San José's Strategic Support teams. This includes efforts by the Office of Racial and Social Equity to drive inclusivity; Human Resources and Office of Employee Relations in advancing recruitment and employee engagement; the Office of Communications enhancing language access and communications; and the Budget Office balancing finances, while ensuring essential services continue. Together, these teams are strengthening the foundation of our City, building a more resilient and inclusive San José! This concludes our Year in Review video series. We are incredibly proud of all the efforts that have been made across our City departments and grateful for the dedication of every City employee. Welcome to Chapter 4 of our Year in Review Video where we highlight the significant work done by the San José Department of Transportation (DOT), the San José Mineta International Airport (SJC), the Environmental Services Department (ESD), and San José Clean Energy (SJCE).  This chapter focuses on how DOT is finding ways to improve road safety, mobility, and sustainability including the expansion of bike lanes supporting safer and more efficient travel, while the growth of the SJC plays a crucial role in our city’s connectivity and economic vitality.  Additionally, SJCE has made great progress in advancing clean energy solutions, while ESD has focused on water recycling and energy efficiency initiatives, all of which are essential in reducing emissions and supporting a more sustainable future for our community.
