After Raymond realized the drugs he was prescribed were out of his price range, you voted for him to ask about receiving possible alternatives. He is able to receive a prescription for more affordable options that achieve the same outcome. You can explore the volume and spend on prescription drugs in Colorado with CIVHC's Prescription Drug analysis, and remember to consider asking your providers about alternatives. https://lnkd.in/gCw-XpKE With your help, Raymond has overcome his cost challenges and can now focus on his recovery and re-joining his friends on the soccer field! Good work!

You voted for Raymond to try and dispute the unexpected costs on his bill for out-of-network services. Fortunately, Raymond knows about Colorado's HB19-1174, which limits surprise out-of-network bills! However, Raymond faces one final payment challenge as he recovers from his surgery when faced with the cost of the prescription drugs he is prescribed. How can Raymond solve this problem? Vote with 👍 if you think he'll have to pay for the drugs out of pocket, and ❤️ if he should ask about alternative options. Stay tuned for the end of Raymond's journey tomorrow!

The majority voted that the next step for our health care adventurer Raymond should be to try and negotiate with the hospital on the cost for his upcoming ACL repair surgery. Raymond is able to establish a payment plan and go forward with the surgery, although he will have to pay interest over time. But his journey isn't done yet. When Raymond receives his bill, he finds it is much higher than expected! What do you think Raymond should do next? React with a ❤️ if he will just have to pay the bill, or a 👍 if you think he can dispute it.

It's the Avengers of APCDs! The WA APCD, CO APCD, AR APCD, and NAHDO are all represented in this picture from the (deep breath) National Academies of Medicine Evidence Mobilization Action Collaborative Meeting. Yes, we deal with a lot of acronyms in claims data. 😉 It was wonderful to all come together! Washington State Health Care Authority National Association of Health Data Organizations

We're back with another health care affordability adventure! Meet Raymond, a Denverite who tore his ACL during a soccer game. Now, he has to have surgery...but is having trouble figuring out how to afford it. Can you help Raymond navigate his way to affordable care? Help Raymond make his first choice: should he try and negotiate costs with the hospital or delay the surgery while he saves for the procedure? Vote with 👍 for delay, and ❤️ for negotiate. Stay tuned for the "leg" of Raymond's journey tomorrow!

We were thrilled to present on how claims analysis can bring value to Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) in partnership with Contexture at last week's Civitas Networks for Health Annual Meeting. Thank you for bringing us all together to discuss these important topics!
