On August 1, Civiltech’s lead Traffic Signal Engineer, Joe Emry, P.E., led an Interchange featuring an overview of Traffic Signal Projects. In this presentation, Joe shared information on types of traffic signal plans, the traffic signal design process, pedestrian signals and accessible pedestrian signals (APS), and signal design standards for regional agencies. Interchanges are part of Civiltech’s robust Knowledge Management program. The presentations allow staff to share an expertise with other staff. One indication of summer winding down is having to say “good bye” to our interns. Civiltech’s Chicago Office Interns Jillian McNally and Grace Muckerheide gave their end of season Interchange on Thursday, August 8. In their presentations, they shared fun facts of their personal backgrounds and details of their internship, including tasks they participated in, projects they worked on, and skills they learned and will be able to apply in the new school year. They also shared the work they most enjoyed and tasks they found challenging. We enjoyed learning more about Jillian and Grace through their interchanges and seeing their enthusiasm for their education and future career.
