Based in Northern California’s wine country, our recruiting firm believes that if your employees truly are your best asset, then the quickest way to grow your business is to get better at getting (and keeping) better people. What is a good timeline for making a hire once the person is in the client's pipeline? For most roles, we recommend 3-4 interviews in total. Those interviews should all take place over no more than 3 weeks. We often see clients who are desperate to hire the right person, but because they are so busy, they kick the can down the road for a few weeks. By that time that top talent has taken on another role and is no longer on the market. Don't fall into this trap! We continue to see compensation expectations on the candidate's side increase at a rate we have not seen in the past. 📈 We are not seeing the same increase on the employer side. This doesn't mean that employers aren't willing to pay. They are simply used to paying $X or they see other people paying $X. Our advice: 💵 If you are an employer - Give yourself a 10-15% buffer as you budget for the role you are hiring for. To be safe, give yourself an 18-20% buffer if you are going through a massive growth phase. And if you are a multi-million or billion-dollar business, don't haggle with a candidate over $5-10k. If they are the right fit, they will make that up in no time. 🤝 If you are the candidate - Be open to different compensation structures within reason. Example: base plus bonus or even profit share.
