At the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation, we believe that strong leadership is key to program success. Our recent case study on the Clark Scholars Program (CSP) showcases how fostering a network of program leaders across 11 universities has created a powerful community of practice. Recognizing that our dedicated program leaders are the heart of the CSP, the Foundation has actively cultivated a network that encourages sharing successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Discover how this leadership network is central to making the CSP experience about more than a scholarship by reading the full case study below. https://lnkd.in/g4pbsYj9

The Clark Foundation was grateful to volunteer at Dog Tag Bakery in Georgetown yesterday. We spent the afternoon helping prepare the distribution of their baked goods and learning more about the positive impact their programming has on the lives of veterans and their families. Dog Tag is always looking for volunteers especially as we near the holidays. Check out how you can help below: https://lnkd.in/eGeJmwq6

We are grateful to all our grantees who are deeply committed to college and career attainment and who continually strive to better support students on their educational journeys. Thank you, NCAN for facilitating a thoughtful conference full of valuable discussions with changemakers and leaders in the field. #CollegePersistence #CollegeAttainment #NCAN2024!

Last year, our partner New Futures provided financial and advising support to 271 scholars, awarding nearly $500,000 in scholarships. We were proud to see the growth of New Futures' programs and student success in their 2023 impact report. The report spotlights personal stories from scholars who exemplify the values of determination, dedication and leadership. We look forward to hearing more about New Futures' achievements as they open doors for more young people from low- and moderate-income households to access higher education and launch thriving careers. https://lnkd.in/gUkWsfKY

This #NationalBreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we are proud to uplift the work of the University of Maryland Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Clark Comprehensive Breast Center in Easton, Maryland. Nearly a decade ago, our $5M investment provided the groundwork for the Center’s expansion as part of a renovation project at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s Diagnostic and Imaging Center. Today, the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center provides a variety of breast health services including diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast disease, as well as other services such as support groups, telemedicine genetic counseling services, and the Wellness for Women program. Learn more about the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center below. https://lnkd.in/eyNmSpXh

In our mission to expand representation and inspire the next generation of engineering leaders, we proudly support the National Academy of Engineering’s flagship program, EngineerGirl. Over the last five years, EngineerGirl has greatly expanded its efforts to increase the diversity of the engineering workforce with support from our $2 million investment. This includes piloting their Ambassadors program to give more girls opportunities and create a culture of inclusion within the engineering community. As a driver of new innovative and creative ideas, submissions to EngineerGirl's writing contest have also seen impressive year-to-year growth, with over 3,600 submissions. Learn how EngineerGirl advances gender representation by informing, inspiring, and supporting girls to consider the rewards of an engineering education and career.
