October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but the issue of domestic violence extends well beyond one month—it can emerge anywhere, at any time. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience physical violence from a partner at some point in their lives. In Colorado, the Domestic Violence Reduction (DVR) Program is making strides to break generational cycles. Founded in 2013 by a team of Clarvida employees, the program offers psycho-educational classes and support for families impacted by domestic violence. We are celebrating the one-year anniversary of Clarvida's Youth Support Center in Boise! 🎉 The center opened its doors in 2023 to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for every youth – regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or social economic status – between the ages of 10 and 17 experiencing behavioral health crisis. The commitment and hard work of this team has made a tremendous impact in the lives of youth as well as in the Western Idaho community. Community is everything. Last month before Hurricane Helene devastated North Carolina, our Wilmington team was able to work side-by-side to advance the common good at the @NirFamilyYMCA's Welcoming Week. Part of a national initiative created by Welcoming America, this event was established to bring together newcomer immigrants and U.S.-born residents to promote cross-cultural understanding and raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone. We are proud to have been part of such an important initiative that builds stronger, more inclusive communities.
