Helping every child on Earth get an education they love

About us

ClassDojo's mission is to give every child on Earth an education they love. We started by building a network that connects teachers, children, and families. ClassDojo’s flagship app is the #1 communication app connecting K-8 teachers, children, and families, globally. They use it to share what’s happening throughout the day through photos, videos, messages, and activities. It is actively used at an unprecedented scale: in over 95% of US schools, reaching ~51 million children in ~180 countries, all built by a team of 65 people [1]). We are now beginning to use this network to give kids the best learning experiences in the world, far beyond those a standard school can provide. We hire for talent density. Our team comprises the most talented, entrepreneurial, and innovative teammates from around the world, with deep backgrounds in education and large scale consumer internet, including Instagram, Netflix, Dropbox, Uber, Y Combinator, and more. We’re building a company where the most talented people want to work. We believe you’ll do the best work of your life here—and you’ll pioneer the future of education, too.

Head of Districts at ClassDojo- we're hiring!

Last year, our team met Principal Tonata Lolesio at a conference. The quick chat stayed with me. The Maui wildfires had just happened, and the devastation was fresh in her mind. Hundreds of kids and families attending her school had been displaced. She and her teachers needed to stay in constant contact with them to ensure everyone was safe. Equally importantly, she wanted families to feel supported.  She told us that they were able to keep the whole community connected, encouraging each other through such a difficult time on ClassDojo. Since then, she and her school have continued to use ClassDojo to share updates and joyful moments daily. Her story mirrors many we’ve heard from school leaders who want a better way to bring their school community together. I heard from Janet, who wanted to call parents daily with positive feedback about their kids, but struggled with the amount of time it took. Or Diana, who tried to share special moments through newsletters, but had no idea if families were even seeing them. Each of these leaders wanted their school community to feel more connected. Over the last year, we’ve worked closely with hundreds of school leaders to bring the same magic that started in individual classrooms to whole schools. Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve expanded ClassDojo to enable school leaders to do the things they want: 🪄See the magic moments from every classroom:  School leaders can now virtually ‘walk the halls’, seeing hundreds of  pictures, videos and magic moments from the day through an aggregated stream of their teachers’ class ‘Story’ posts. They can finally be there for all the can’t miss moments. 🫶Build a positive school culture:  School leaders can award positive feedback that reinforces the school’s core values, encouraging positive behaviors through the entire school and keeping families in the loop. 🤝 Easily connect everyone: School leaders can instantly share important announcements or have two-way chats with staff and families with a single inbox for their whole school community. 🌎Reach every family: Leaders can include and engage every family, no matter the language they speak at home. With messages automatically translated into 130 languages, language need no longer be a barrier. I’m tremendously proud of the new ways we’re empowering school communities. And I’m grateful for the response from school leaders. In the last month as school leaders prepare for the new year, thousands have already established schoolwide communities on ClassDojo, and have been thrilled with the positive engagement they’ve seen from families and kids. I can’t wait to help more school leaders turn their schools into close-knit communities. Know a principal or other school leader? Feel free to share this post with them, and they can learn more at www.classdojo.com/sayhello.
