  • Our latest pv magazine Global test results are in! The three new TOPCon samples performed very well in their first month, resulting in a higher bifacial boost for TOPCon than heterojunction (HJT), represented only by two products. However, it is too early to say that TOPCon performs better than HJT, as we need more time and more HJT products to conclude. Meanwhile, as summer progresses and high temperatures prevail, the improved power temperature of TOPCon and HJT panels contributes to higher performance than the passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC). View the complete test results below. #SolarEnergy #TOPCon #pvmagazine #RenewableEnergy #BifacialBoost #CleanEnergy #SolarPower #SustainableTech #CleanEnergyAssociates

  • Building a PV power plant is a dynamic undertaking, so paying maximum attention to the design process is crucial. This is especially important to note because the process begins with racking. Racking is not only the foundation and skeleton of the whole system, but the ability of the mounting systems and trackers to maintain a steady performance affects the entirety of the module’s lifespan.   They also have to be custom-made, which makes them design-intensive.   Our engineering services include expert engineers who can offer the right design advice to build industry-standard PV power plants.   Check the link in the comments section to learn more about our engineering services.    #SolarPower #EngineeringServices #RenewableEnergy #QualityAssurance #CleanEnergyAssociates

  • The lithium market has been quite volatile over the past couple of years. In 2021 and 2022, the demand for lithium in batteries far outstripped the available supply, leading to a substantial price increase. 2023 started with the slippage of some of lithium’s growth forecasts. This was because demand growth was not happening at the expected rate, resulting in a drop in lithium prices. Fast-forward to today: lithium is cheaper, so batteries are more affordable. While lithium becoming cheaper can be seen as a good thing, this, in turn, means that it is now much more challenging to open a mine for anyone considering investing in the upstream market. In our latest webinar with Canary Media Inc., our specialists Daniel Finn-Foley and Aaron Marks shared insights about whether renewed investment in raw material production can drive sufficient growth to meet soaring OEM demand. They also discussed tackling pressing issues concerning storage OEMs, tariffs, and the likelihood of domestic content in battery energy storage systems, among other things, by sharing findings from our most recent studies. We sat down with LevelTen Energy to discuss the effects of expanded solar tariffs, AD/CVD investigations, and other issues on project development and PPA prices. During our conversation, we explored how the US solar industry is adapting to trade law changes, including the expansion of Section 301 and 201 tariffs and the UFLPA. One of the key points discussed is that the supply chain for the U.S. market might transition from using Southeast Asian cells and modules to combining Southeast Asian cells with US-made modules. This shift is due to Southeast Asian cell capacity benefiting from a Section 301 advantage compared to Chinese cells. As most new crystalline silicon US module factories are new and subject to ramp risks/delays, it has become increasingly important to consider proper quality assurance, traceability audits, and other vendor due diligence programs.
