We at the Port of Cleveland are proud to have partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District for the Cleveland Harbor Dredged Material Management Plan charrette. These collaborative workshops are essential for developing innovative solutions for managing dredged material effectively while ensuring the safety of our waterways. We appreciate the engagement of all stakeholders and look forward to implementing the ideas and strategies generated during our discussions. Together, we’re committed to enhancing the sustainability of our harbor and supporting the economic vitality of our region.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District held a Cleveland Harbor Dredged Material Management Plan (DMMP) charrette in partnership with the Port of Cleveland. Designed as a brainstorming session, the workshop brought together resource agencies, stakeholders, sponsors, and USACE colleagues for two days to develop a shared vision for the Cleveland DMMP, identify opportunities for beneficial use of dredged material from Cleveland Harbor, and build a common understanding of decision-making criteria and processes. Great conversations were had regarding options of what to do with material dredged as part of the vitally important process of ensuring federal waterways remain safe and the economy keeps flowing. #USACE works to build and sustain strong partnerships that help bring solutions to the nation’s toughest engineering challenges.
