⚡The PORT OF KIEL (SEEHAFEN KIEL GmbH & Co. KG) and AIDA Cruises celebrated a major milestone on September 25th with the docking of AIDAnova, becoming the 100th cruise ship this year to be powered by shore power. 📉 Shore power allows ship engines to be switched off at berth, reducing emissions by up to 98%, depending on the mix of energy sources. Investments like onshore power are helping the Cruise industry in its pursuit of net-zero emissions by 2050. 🛳 #WeARECruise

🌍A Vision for Sustainable Tourism in Dubrovnik 🌍 Do not miss the video below of the Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik / Grad Dubrovnik, Mr. Mato Frankovic explaining how the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dubrovnik and CLIA has been instrumental in tackling some of the city’s most pressing challenges: 🗣️"The Memorandum of Understanding with CLIA was crucial to our efforts. Our primary goal is to guide Dubrovnik back to sustainability, enhancing the quality of service for all visitors. The 'Respect the City' programme was launched of necessity to tackle overcrowding and manage the flow of tourists, particularly within the old city. This multidisciplinary initiative addresses various tourism activities, including cruise tourism, and acknowledges that the key to sustainability is effective tourism management." At #CLIA, we are honored to support Dubrovnik in this endeavor, especially through responsible cruise tourism. 🙌 This partnership has shown that by working together—local authorities, the tourism industry, and communities—we can achieve a shared vision of responsible tourism that maximizes cultural, economic, and environmental benefits. 🤝 As we celebrate World Tourism Day, let’s continue our commitment to responsible tourism that nurtures the places we love, preserving them for future generations. #WorldTourismDay #ResponsibleTourism #Dubrovnik #RespectTheCity #Partnership #CruiseTourism #CulturalHeritage
