Focused on breaking language barriers in climate education, the organization includes over 16,000 volunteers across 134 countries, translating over 3 million words of climate information into 100+ languages. 🌎 Less than 20% of the global population speaks English, yet over 90% of climate information is only available in English. This especially impacts the global majority—6.6 billion non-English speakers—who face barriers in accessing climate information and sharing their research and solutions to secure partnerships, funding, and other resources. 🎙️ I recently joined the incredible Dickon Bonvik-Stone on the Communicating Climate Change podcast to talk about my work as Executive Director at Climate Cardinals and how our youth-led organization is addressing this issue by translating climate information into over 100 languages and empowering grassroots climate education. Five years ago, it would’ve been hard to imagine how much our message would resonate—back when we were just a group of high school graduates with $500 and a website.
