Government Relations
A voluntary, inter-government organization for developing countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
About us
The CVF is a South-South cooperation platform where countries highly vulnerable to the climate crisis act together to deal with this historic global challenge across all world regions. The CVF is a voluntary, non-treaty organization for vulnerable developing countries specifically focused on climate change action and policy. It represents some 1.74 billion people worldwide and is made up of 68 members from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, and the Pacific. The Maldives, along with ten other countries, founded the CVF in Male’ in November 2009. For an ordinary period of two years, the Forum is chaired by a rotating chair, with Ghana the incumbent presidency for the period 2022-24. The CVF also has dedicated platforms of cooperation for its Ministers of Finance (the V20) and for parliamentarians (the CVF Global Parliamentary Group). More information is available on the CVF and V20 websites: www.thecvf.org and www.v-20.org.

🌎 Key achievements of the first #GlobalShield workshop in Costa Rica last week: ▶️ identification of key stakeholders ▶️ progress on the country’s stocktake ▶️ first outline for the gap analysis With more than 90 institutions participating, a wide range of stakeholders received detailed information about the Global Shield, its In-Country Process and the different support options available through the Global Shield Financing Structure. As a next step, the Ministry of Finance and Superintendencia General de Seguros (SUGESE) will oversee the elaboration of the gap analysis, which will then be used as the basis for the development of the request for support to the Global Shield. 🌟 Collaborating Towards Climate Prosperity 🌟 I'm thrilled to share that last week, as Director South Asia of Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) & Vulnerable Twenty Group (V20), had the honor of signing a groundbreaking MoU with the All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers & Merchants Association (PFVA). This partnership aims to enhance climate-resilient agricultural practices, spur seed innovation, bolster conservation efforts, mobilize climate finance opportunities, and drive climate-positive development within Pakistan's vital agriculture sector. PFVA, with its impressive 235 members, contributes approx. over $750 million in exports annually. Together, we aim to significantly boost this number and uplift farmers' livelihoods through our shared commitment. This collaboration is a significant step towards achieving #climateprosperity for Pakistan. #ClimateProsperity #ClimateResilience #Agriculture #Innovation #Sustainability #Partnerships #CVFV20 #PFVA #Pakistan #ClimateAction
