Clinica Family Health & Wellness will be closed Monday, March 31 in honor of Cesar Chavez day. Cesar Chavez was an advocate for workplace safety, collective bargaining, and improved wages. His message; "Si, se puede!" is a reminder that positive change doesn't come quickly or easily, but can be accomplished through hard work and working together. “From the depth of need and despair, people can work together, can organize themselves to solve their own problems and fill their own needs with dignity and strength.”

Four years ago today, South Boulder was forever changed. Ten beloved members of our community lost their lives in the mass shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers. In their honor and memory, our Boulder Strong Resource Center (BSRC) is partnering with the City of Boulder, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Museum of Boulder for a Remembrance Day event this afternoon, March 22nd, from 2:00-3:30pm at the Museum of Boulder. This event is free to attend and members of the BSRC team will be in attendance for any survivors, first responders, and community members who need additional support and resources in their healing journey. Yesterday, Community Health Center (CHC) advocates met with elected officials to share the importance of Medicaid for CHCs and the patients we serve. Inner City Health hosted a discussion with Sen. John Hickenlooper. Clinica Family Health & Wellness hosted Gov. Jared Polis and Rep. Joe Neguse for a tour and listening session. Staff from Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, STRIDE Community Health Center , Denver Health, and Inner City Health, joined a roundtable discussion at The Colorado Health Foundation with Gov. Polis. Big takeaway? Cuts to Medicaid would mean closures for Community Health Centers, less access to preventative care, and costlier emergency visits down the line. Today, as part of the nationwide Medicaid Day of Action, Congressman Joe Neguse and Governor Jared Polis visited Clinica Family Health & Wellness to advocate for the critical funding that is currently under threat. We, and other Community Health Centers across Colorado, depend on this funding to continue providing affordable medical, dental, and mental health services for hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in our state who are covered by Medicaid.
