Blood Cancer Awareness Month is a global event dedicated to raising awareness about one of the world’s most prevalent and dangerous cancers: blood cancer. 🩸 Each September, the world turns red to spotlight the significant impact blood cancer has on our communities and to emphasize the urgent need for more action. Raising awareness about blood cancer, its signs and symptoms, and its profound impact helps improve early diagnosis, encourages policymakers to prioritize the disease, and ensures that everyone affected by blood cancer feels connected and heard.💗 🤝 Together we can improve patient outcomes. #BloodCancerAwareness #BloodCancer #MedEd

“She was our first. She was diagnosed at 17 months of age. By age 2, we heard her speak her last word. By age 3 she had lost most hand function. She has never walked or stood independently and uses a wheelchair full time. She had her first seizure at 3 years old. A G-tube at age 5 as she lost her ability to chew and swallow easily and to get full doses of medicines on time, but also at age 5 she began to use her own eye-gaze operated Tobii computer device to start communicating. Spinal surgery for scoliosis at age 13. Her mutation is R168x and she is on the far more affected end of the Rett spectrum... because we took the time to learn, share and try medical, therapeutic, educational, and communication interventions along the way from trusted sources. Some trial, some error, but many more successes than we ever dreamed when we first heard the words "Rett syndrome".  Hope is real! It is our mission at IRSF to help gather, curate, drive, and produce trusted information for every person on the spectrum of Rett syndrome, young old, female and male, so that as a clinician you too can have the confidence that you are doing the best you can, with what we know, right now.”    📝 Hear more of Paige Nues’ personal journey of navigating the complexities of #RettSyndrome care for her daughter.     This powerful story offers insights into the daily challenges and triumphs of managing this rare condition, from diagnosis through ongoing treatment.       👉 Download now to gain valuable knowledge and discover essential resources that can support you in guiding your patients' caregivers through their own journeys.     This is the final installment of our 4-part CME/CE/CPE-certified Medical Minute series!
