We need not look far or wide to celebrate Pride Month and the people who have significantly impacted science than our very own company. Clinical Outcomes Solutions, a LGBTQIA+, woman-owned business, exemplifies how inclusivity in all its forms creates a thriving and successful environment. We are proud of our part in this fantastic community where we can show up and contribute as our best authentic selves without fear of judgment or reprisal. As we celebrate at Pride Parades or by donating to LGBTQIA+ charities, let us not forget how important it is to stand together against intolerance in all its forms. This month marks the 54th anniversary of the first Pride Parade held in 1970. How beautiful it is to see the strength, perseverance, and expansiveness that has come to represent PRIDE MONTH! COS stands proud, stands tall and stands together in support of the LGBTQIA+ community and leads with acceptance and joy! Happy Pride! #PrideMonth #WomanOwned #Queer #LGBTQIA #PrideAwareness #PrideProud #Love

COS announces the latest publication by Stacie Hudgens and long-time former colleague Lysbeth Floden in Value in Health, the official journal of ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research. Their complete publication, "Meaningful Symptomatic Change in Patients With Myelofibrosis From the SIMPLIFY Studies," is now available for download. This research establishes essential thresholds for understanding symptomatic change in myelofibrosis patients. By leveraging data from the SIMPLIFY studies, Stacie's work contributes to the literature on symptomatic change in Myelofibrosis. “The analysis of meaningful change in MF symptoms and domain scores is critical for publication as it puts research in the public domain focused on the patient voice. For many years, due to precedent, the endpoint for the modified Myeloproliferative Neoplasm Symptom Assessment Form v2.0 total scores has been 50% improvement; however, using modern anchor-based methods, we were able to demonstrate that meaningful change should actually be generated at the score level and not the percentage to enhance interpretability. Percentage change is difficult to interpret due to the variability whereas the raw score change is much clearer as we can review the domain score change and related to change on the individual items. – Stacie Hudgens , CEO Explore more highlights and the abstract in the link below. #ClinicalOutcomesSolutions #ResearchExcellence #PatientCentric #Myelofibrosis #COSInnovates #MeaningfulChange #ISPOR #COA #ClinicalResearch

COS is proud to announce a new publication by our dedicated colleagues Stacie Hudgens MSc, Jennifer Beaumont MS, and Michael DeRosa MA in the Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, JBiopharmStat. Their article, "A Demonstration of Estimands and Sensitivity Analyses for time-to-deterioration of Patient-reported Outcomes," published on April 30, 2024, provides crucial insights into improving patient-reported outcomes measurement. The publication emphasizes the role of precise estimands and robust sensitivity analyses in understanding patient deterioration. This work advances our scientific knowledge and reinforces our commitment to patient-centric research. “We suggest the reporting of proportions of patient events and patient censoring by reason as it helps to understand the mechanisms that drive time to event results in an estimand framework, allowing for optimal interpretation and facilitating future trial planning.” — Michael DeRosa MA Join us in congratulating Stacie, Jennifer, and Michael for their contribution. Your expertise and innovation continue to drive research forward. #ClinicalOutcomesSolutions #ResearchExcellence #PatientCentric #COSInnovates #ScientificBreakthroughs #EstimandsFramework #PatientReportedOutcomes

Today, we announce that Tara Symonds will be leaving the throws of full-time consulting at the end of May to make life a bit easier. She will continue as a part-time consultant and will be a predominant member of the newly formed COS Scientific Advisory Board which we will be announcing in the near future. Tara has co-led the growth and development of Clinical Outcomes Solutions since its early days, pushing scientific innovation in COA research the entire time; even prior to joining during her tenure at Pfizer. What we’ve accomplished together is nothing short of life-changing and invigorating. To us, work/life balance is critical to our mission, vision, and philosophy, as well as our own quality of life, so we are excited to celebrate Tara as she pursues a bit of calm, a lot of biking, and any other fun activity she pursues. Thank you, Tara! Stacie Hudgens Founder/CEO
