Making cloud native ubiquitous
About us
Cloud native computing uses an open source software stack to deploy applications as microservices, packaging each part into its own container, and dynamically orchestrating those containers to optimize resource utilization. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) hosts critical components of those software stacks including Kubernetes and Prometheus; brings together the industry’s top developers, end users, and vendors; and serves as a neutral home for collaboration. CNCF is part of The Linux Foundation.

I love to build 💙 Products, DevOps, Security, OSS, Sustainability • Engineer • CNCF Ambassador • Founder @Women in Cloud Native
I'm excited to be organizing and speaking at the NYC Meetup - CNCF TAG Environmental Sustainability alongside the amazing Scott Rigby and Karen Chu. I'm looking forward to insightful discussions on sustainability in the cloud-native space this Tuesday, October 15, at 6 PM CET, 600 Lexington Ave 💚. 🌍 We're thrilled to have Shayna Solis (formerly Skolnik) and Ramon Ramirez-Linan joining us. Ramon will present NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's High Performance Computing (HPC) carbon footprint tracker for Kubernetes and explain how NASA scientists use it to analyze and experiment with Earth Science data to address climate change. Shayna will showcase some of Navteca's climate change-related work, created in close collaboration with NASA, including sea level and extreme weather modeling, simulations, and training tools. 🔐 Aseem Shrey will share insights on how industries can address both security and sustainability challenges in the cloud. Drawing from real-world examples, he will discuss practical security issues that organizations often face, including misconfigurations, compliance pitfalls, and cloud resource inefficiencies. The aim is to inspire a dialogue on sustainable cloud security practices, empowering practitioners to adopt both secure and environmentally conscious approaches. 🌱 I will be discussing CNCF and Cloud Native Sustainability Week: the mission and objectives of TAG Environmental Sustainability. I'll highlight recent initiatives and emphasize the importance of environmental sustainability today. I'll also explain how individuals can contribute to related projects.
