Klay Thompson's brother is leading MLB Spring Training in home runs. Klay, of course, is one of the greatest deep threats in NBA history. And his brother Trayce is following in his footsteps. In Spring Training deep balls, Thompson is currently tied atop the leaderboard - at 6 HR apiece: 🔸 Trayce Thompson 🔸 Rhys Hopkins 🔸 Gavin Sheets 🔸 Matt Wallner But unlike the others, it only took Trayce 31 plate appearances this spring to launch 6 bombs for the Red Sox. And that’s not the only thing he's doing, per MLB Stats: 🔸13 RBI (T-2nd) 🔸.286 average 🔸.457 on-base percentage (2nd) 🔸.857 slugging percentage (1st) 🔸1.314 OPS (1st) Klay’s 33-year-old younger brother is trying to make Boston’s roster after spending last season with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. He’s played for 5 different teams in his 10-year career, twice hitting 13 home runs in a season with the Dodgers. Trayce may not be heading to the Hall of Fame like Klay. But at this rate, Boston would be foolish not to ride the Trayce Train until it runs off the tracks.

Wilt Chamberlain almost un-retired to play in the NBA at 50 years old. When Wilt retired in 1973, he was the NBA's all-time leader in PTS and REB in a game, season, and career. In the 20+ years after his retirement in 1973, Wilt had several teams asking him to un-retire (per NBA writer Colton Jones): 🔸 Cavs 🔸 Bulls 🔸 Nets 🔸 Knicks (2x) 🔸 Sixers (2x) 🔸 Mavs 🔸 Suns 🔸 Clippers In 1979, the Cleveland Cavaliers had serious talks with Wilt. But the Cavs GM stuck the contract in Wilt's fence when Wilt wasn't home. When he arrived, Wilt found pages of the contract blown all over his front lawn, per NBA journalist Peter Vecsey. In 1986, at 49 years old, Wilt was offered $362K by the Nets just to play for the last 7 games of the season and playoffs, per LA Times. In his book A View From Above, Wilt believes even at 40+ years old, he would've dominated if he un-retired and played: "There is no doubt in my mind I would have led the league in rebounding. It's not even a question."

We may be on the verge of the first-ever WNBA lockout. When the WNBA Player's Association opted out of its CBA last October, the odds of a possible lockout were probable. Angel Reese added fuel to the fire when she said that a strike could occur if the league didn't meet their demands. "If y'all don't give us what we want, we sitting out," Reese said (via Unapologetically Angel). The WNBA experienced a spike in viewership last season. And per Sports Illustrated, the league hit numbers it hadn't seen in decades: 2,353,735 fans attended games (highest in 22 years) An average of 657,000 fans tuned in to televised WNBA games (highest in 24 years) WNBA signed an 11-year media rights deal with Disney, Amazon Prime Video, and NBC Universal, worth over $2.2 billion The WNBPA and the WNBA have until Oct. 31, 2025 to come to terms on a new CBA. Hopefully, an agreement can be reached well before then.

One of the most watched soccer games of the year didn’t include Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or any clubs from the Premier League. There wasn’t a pro in sight either. There are only 4 current and former NBA players who are billionaires. Michael Jordan . Magic Johnson. LeBron James. and Junior Bridgeman. One of them may not have been a household name, but his impact is measured way beyond the 94-foot confines of the basketball court. Junior Bridgeman wasn't a slouch on the court either. He was a Milwaukee Bucks legend, with his #2 jersey retired by the team. He was part of the trade package that brought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the Lakers. During his 12-year tenure in the NBA, Bridgeman received $3 million in total career earnings. That's less than the average salary of an NBA player now. The small amount did not hinder him being able to obtain generational wealth. He was an owner of multiple successful businesses, predominantly in the fastfood section. Yesterday, he left us after a medical emergency in a charity event. His story is a valuable lesson on how pro athletes are able to keep making money after their playing days are over.

Kobe Bryant wasn’t just a basketball legend—he was a force of nature. In the 2008 Olympics, Dwyane Wade witnessed firsthand how Kobe’s brilliance extended far beyond the court, from his relentless work ethic to his mastery of nine languages 🤯 His presence was so magnetic that even other stars felt like commoners with his glow. Mamba Mentality wasn’t just a mindset, it was a way of life that left everyone in awe 💯 (via The Wy Network)
