October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, Domestic Violence Annual Report, nearly 12,000 children statewide were in families experiencing domestic violence last year. That’s 12,000 too many and could very well be the cause that children find themselves in the child welfare system. We’re grateful for our partners, including Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) and HOPE Family Services, who provide critical resources to survivors and help families rebuild.
