Shoutout to the incredible LVN students from Hartnell College who spent the day with our CEO, Margy Mayfield, and Clinical Director, Robin Nacamuli honing their pediatric clinical skills! Pediatric training isn’t typically part of the LVN curriculum, but Hartnell College’s program is going the extra mile to give students a broader view of their career options. Each year, students have the unique opportunity to rotate through Coastal Kids Home Care, shadowing our amazing shift nurses in patient homes for two days. This hands-on experience allows them to see pediatric nursing in action and understand the deeply meaningful relationships our nurses build with the children and families they serve. The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re so proud to share how much our nurses love the work they do every day with these special families. #PediatricNursing #NurseEducation #LVN #CoastalKidsHomeCare #HealthcareTraining #PediatricCare

Is Your Institution Equipped with Pediatric Palliative Care Expertise? In today’s healthcare landscape, pediatric palliative care is no longer optional—it’s a cornerstone of high-quality care for children with serious illnesses. Leading institutions like BC Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Texas Children’s Hospital recognize pediatric palliative care specialists' essential role in enhancing patient and family outcomes. Pediatric palliative care specialists: - Improve Care Quality: By managing complex symptoms and ensuring families feel informed and supported, these professionals raise the standard of care, directly impacting patient and family satisfaction. - Reduce Staff Burnout: Frontline teams benefit from emotional and professional support, reducing stress and turnover, while improving communication with families. - Strengthen Family Engagement: Families make better-informed decisions when guided by a palliative care expert, ensuring care aligns with their values and improving trust in the healthcare team. - Deliver Financial Benefits: Institutions investing in pediatric palliative care see reduced hospital readmissions, shorter inpatient stays, and fewer emergency room visits—leading to significant cost savings. Additionally, hospitals can save on recruitment and training costs by reducing staff turnover and preventing burnout. https://lnkd.in/dp-uG_hg https://lnkd.in/dUUbKcwq Institutions investing in pediatric palliative care aren’t just providing better care—they’re building stronger, more resilient healthcare teams and fostering trust with the families they serve, all while optimizing financial resources. Does your institution have access to pediatric palliative care specialists? If not, think about the impact it could have on care quality, staff well-being, patient satisfaction, and cost savings. #PediatricPalliativeCare #HealthcareExcellence #InstitutionalLeadership
