Karen Wright's inspiring journey, from a child who had difficulty reading and doing math to becoming Cobb's Teacher of the Year, is a powerful testament to the lasting impact teachers can have. Her fourth-grade teacher gave her the tools and confidence to find her voice and discover her passion for teaching. Today, Ms. Wright pays it forward by striving to be the teacher she needed as a student—nurturing, dedicated, and committed to helping every child succeed. Her students rushed to congratulate their beloved teacher at the handprint unveiling, a symbol of the indelible mark she's left on their lives. As one student shared, "This is my fourth-grade teacher, and I was here for this." Ms. Wright's extraordinary story reminds us that with perseverance and the right support, anything is possible. To the struggling student or parent of one, she declares: "Keep working. Never give up. You can do it!" Read the full, uplifting story here: https://lnkd.in/e5xF8FN8

"This is going to give them opportunities to be employed directly out of high school if they wish, but more importantly, it will open so many doors to their futures... We are so grateful for Wellstar Health System's dedication to Cobb students." - Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Kelly Metcalfe

The first group of students at CITA just started their onsite rotations at Wellstar Health System facilities this week! They'll get to try out various medical roles like emergency response, surgical tech, and more. It's a major opportunity for these teens to get real-world training and open doors for healthcare careers after graduation. Wellstar sees it as much more than a temporary gig - they want to welcome the students as part of the team and support them on a journey to full-time employment. The students were all smiles at a welcome reception where they got their Wellstar badges and first sanitation certification. Read more for all the details on this partnership! https://lnkd.in/e8DckA5A
