Last week, we rolled out the red carpet for our 6th annual Best of the Best celebration at Hilton Lincoln Centre in Dallas, Texas! We took the time to honor our leaders who made the biggest impact in 2024. The event was highlighted by impassioned speeches from our president, Jean Claude Tissot, and guest speaker, Chet Garner a.k.a 'The Daytripper', who reminded us of all the beauty, history and culture we have in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Congratulations to all our nominees and winners! We can’t wait to celebrate with you again in 2026! We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: art inspires us all! The Black Heritage Creative Contest in Oklahoma featured 181 entries from 18 different Oklahoma schools. High school students created posters to share inspirational moments in Black History. The talent was out of this world. Congratulations to everyone who competed and won! We loved celebrating you during the half-time show at the Oklahoma City Thunder game. Thank you to our area director, Hector Amaya for presenting the awards!

Who had the Best Commercial Float at the WBCA Parade? Team Laredo! Their float highlighted the 115 years that we have served Laredo. We are honored to be such a storied part of Laredo history. Let’s #raiseacoke to our heroes in Laredo who bring happiness and creativity to everything they do!

Our team had a great time at the 9th Annual North Texas UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball! We jump at the chance to bring awareness to the need and benefits of college education and support those who #MakeADifference in our communities!

CCSWB had a great time celebrating the grand opening of the new technology lab at the John Wilson Boys and Girls Club earlier this month! ✂️❤️ The lab is filled with exciting tools that will allow kids to dive into things like digital dissections and creating podcasts. This state-of-the-art technology is truly #MakingaDifference in enhancing the educational journeys of these young minds.
